So I just tt'd to the last friday of April in 2014... BUT NO WEEDING DAY?

Yeah, according to Thonky, it's the last Saturday in April. I don't get why they have to all be on different days...

A few days ago, I TT'ed to the last Friday of April 2013 and there was no Weeding Day, but there was a notice on the bulletin board that it was the next day, so Saturday 27. I set the clock to 9 AM on Saturday 27 then and got told by Isabelle that Leif could be found on the plaza.

If you're trying to unlock the topiaries then you need to make sure that there are no weeds in your town when you enter a new day. Took me a few minutes to figure out they meant that as in "no weeds at 23h59 on Friday 26", I thought they meant "no weeds at 05h59 on Saturday 27".
