Does anyone have any tips for regrowing grass? Dirt patches really bother me, so lately, I've just been covering pretty much my entire map with flowers (I still have a lot of grass, I just committed for the sake of look) and trying to stick to my paths.
One thing to remember is that, for whatever reason, the game is set to have assigned "dirt spots" where grass won't grow no matter what. I saw someone on Tumblr use a hacking method that restored ALL of their grass, and the next day there were random blotches of dirt in different places that the person hadn't even ran in or anything.
Either way, simply not running on the grass helps it to regrow, as does avoiding the spots that you want to be regrown altogether. Planting flowers and trees on the spots and watering them helps as well. Another trick you can do (if you don't mind TTing and risking a move out) is time travel back 1 or two months, then time travel back to today's date. The game registers that as you not playing for that period of time and your grass wear decreases if you load up the game less.

You can walk NEAR them, it's just recommended that you don't walk directly on them. You can water them whilst standing in front of them, but not on them.
I never run off of my paths, but I have large patches of dirt around retail and such, and I know they weren't always there. I won't TT more than a day, I love my villagers too much.
