I was wondering if there is a good f.a.q. or guide over the Void? I'm just wondering how this whole voiding thing works, how long an animal is stuck in the void (how long it's possible for someone you interact with to be influenced by who's in your void), etc.

Thanks in advance!

The Void is a term people use to describe where villagers go if they don't move into someone else's town.
Only 16 villagers at a time can be in the Void; if another villager is voided, then the first voided villager moves back into your town. This is commonly called the 16 villager cycle. Voided villagers eventually show up in your Main Street, as well as villagers who moved to different towns.
I'm not sure what other information you need.

Okay, that helps. I was wondering where the whole "16 villager cycle" thing came from. Is there by any chance a guide on the 16 villager cycle? (Pardon if there's a guide in plain sight; I'm still learning my way around this site.) :)

I think the 16 villager cycle refers to the fact that if villager X leaves your town, he/she is ineligible to come back as a resident until 16 more villagers have left your town.

PS: Rodney fan? *high fives*

Well, that actually seems pretty simple and makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

And yes, I adore Rodney. He's so silly looking! xD

Also, your signature is so creepy! Apple's in my town now, and I'm never going to be able to look at her the same way again! ;P

I don't think there's an actual guide on the 16 villager cycle. There are guides on how to move out villagers quickly to speed up the cycle. You also have to keep count of the villagers that have moved out.

Oh, and so about the void, if a villager is voided, he/she remains in the void until either I interact with another person (through 3DS to 3DS or wifi) or until the next villager is voided, am I correct? Like, if I interact with another person through 3DS to 3DS or wifi and I have someone in my void, they are guaranteed to get them without a choice?

Most likely if they have 9 or less villagers and no reserved plots if they're at 9 villagers.

Even then, you're still not guaranteed it for whatever reason. I tried to give someone a voided villager and took all possible precautions, and she didn't end up getting the villager, which made me immensely sad since the villager was a dreamy of hers'.

If you wi-fi with someone and they have room, the most recently voided villager will show up in their town, I believe.

There is no guaruntee, and they are still in your void in the sense you cant get them again.

That's why I said likely, tho it has happened to me every possible time haha. Maybe I'm just lucky (or should I say, unlucky) to get voided villagers via Wifi haha.

One last question: from my understanding, it looks like if the other person has 10 villagers already in their town, there's no way they can get a villager from someone's void? For example, one of their villagers won't be forced to move out just to receive the voided villager?

No, a villager will not move into their town if it is completely full and a current villager will not move out.

I would actually like to see that guide on how to move out villagers faster. The one I use is time consuming

Some people say to introduce yourself to them and never talk to them again while others say to become best friends with them. There's many different kinds of methods and they work for different people. For me, I talk to them sparingly and use the PWP diving trick because they might ping you to move.

If your villager moved into another person's town, does that mean you can't get another copy of that villager from someone else until you go through the 16 cycle? Or does that only apply to copies of the villager appearing in your game?

Any version of that villager, whether they moved to a friend's town, or were sent to the void.
