So I'm going to do this in a day format for it to make sense on my question...

Day 1 - villager asks to move, I say yes
Day 2 - villager is inboxes
Day 3 - open plot guaranteed?
Day 4 - possible for a"void" villager for someone else to claim the plot (or a rando villager)

Do you have a guaranteed day to look for a villager or adopt one before a voided one will buy the plot?
I ask because last time I picked up a void villager from someone I did have at least a day to island hop. =/

I have a villager go into boxes tomorrow, but I want to adopt a villager from someone on Sunday when my plot is open. I worry that if I let someone come to adopt my villager tomorrow, I will pick up their void and not be able to go pick up the villager from someone.

Considering I made a thread here... last night? I think. The thread was me basically complaining that the fact I had a friend's voided villager move into my empty plot, when I last visited them over a week ago. That means I had a voided villager from another user that was basically 'queued' up to move in.

But to answer your question, the plot is NORMALLY open for at least one day, so "day 4" is when a villager would move in -- pretty sure that's when Benedict decided to claim the plot for myself.

I've always had at least 1 day for the plot to be open after moving out a villager, and I've moved out a bunch of them! plus making someone move in the very next day would disincentivize players from going to mystery islands which would make no sense from a developer standpoint.

I have done some many trades I probably have a stockpile in my void queue... I wasn't sure if newer acquired voids came in sooner I guess???

I guess that makes sense.
Since I don't TT... it takes soooooo long before I get another one to want to move out. >.>

The best way to beat void villagers is to invite a villager of your choice as soon as a plot opens up. So save up those miles and stock up on tickets while no one is moving out.

Yeah whenever I have an open plot I go island hopping because I’m worried that someone’s voided villagers will claim the spot. I’ve traded with so many people online and I’m sure there’s a huge queue of random villagers waiting to move in haha

I knew in New Leaf that you could/would get a voided villager the very next day, without a chance to go adopt a villager from someone else. Those were the fun days where when someone wanted to adopt a villager from you, you had to make sure they first visited someone else with a full island to 'clear their void" before visiting you to adopt the villager or you'd get their void villager. Good times. Good times. /s

I know New Horizons doesn't have the "void clear" but wasn't sure if it guaranteed 1 "open" day for you to island hop/adopt from someone else or if there was a possibility you would immediately have a void villager buy the plot.
