I recently just had someone over in my town to adopt a villager, and I guess she didn't clear her void because now Gwen is trying to plot in my town. I've yet to log on to my mayor, I've just noticed her by logging in with a new resident to plot reset. Is there any way I can prevent Gwen from moving in? I'm trying to adopt other villagers, and so I really can't have her plotting in my town. If I go back to the date that ruby moved out will that keep her from moving in and allow me to adopt another villager before she plots? Help!!

Since the plot is already there, there's no way to move her out :( But, if you haven't logged in as your mayor you could possibly plot reset her so she doesn't trample or ruin everything.

If you haven't loaded your mayor yet, yes, you can go back to the previous day and stay there until you can invite someone to override her (I've done this a few times so can confirm it works). However, it's not clear from your wording, but did Gwen show up the very next day after Ruby moved out? If so, you'll only be able to invite someone if you were already at 9 villagers including Ruby. But if there was a day between Ruby moving out and Gwen's plot showing up (as there's always been in my experience of picking up voided villagers) then that'll be the day you want to go back to.

That happened to me, I had a visitor and they gave me one of their voided villagers (Ken) and I CANNOT GET RID OF HIM. I've had this sucker for a month and he won't get out of my town!!!!! So I just visited someone that had a clear void before I went villager hunting so now my void is clear too.

I'm sorry this happened to you :( it's a real bummer!!

You can't clear your void, it's just a myth. Your game will remember villagers until they are overridden by others. There is always a chance to get a voided villager when using Wi-Fi if you don't have 10 residents.

Yeah I wouldn't hold too much on the clearing void thing, the person who came over could well have visited another town with 10 villagers in an attempt to clear it and it just didn't work. I have had that a couple of times and on one ocassionan somebody was very childish and instead of speaking to me, decided to leave negative feedback claiming I had given her a voided villager on purpose and completely ignored me afterwards. When I know full well my void should have been cleared. So it's not a 100% thing.

Unfortunately these not much you can do now if you have already logged on as your mayor, if they're the most recent villager it might be difficult to get them to move, too. Whenever I have a free spot in town I just avoid all wifi and turn off street pass, it really is the best thing to do to 100% avoid something like this

I do this too, but it can't really be helped if the voided villager came from someone who adopted your moving villager. (Unless you just void all your villagers, but then of course you risk passing them on to others)

Oh I agree. It's a massive pain when you're getting a villager adopted. Before now I've just had to keep my town on the same date until I've found a replacement. Not everybody can or even wants to do that though of course. I really wish ther was a sure way of preventing unwanted voided villagers.
