If you froze the town by stopping a mover than you'll be fine.
In my guest town I stopped a mover when I arrived at the end of September this week. Jumped to February 21st and it took 15 minutes to find out who the rumor mover was and it was stopped. Make sure to talk to all of the villagers to get where have you been.
I forgot one time when I did a 2 week jump. The next day 3 villager were upset and one was trying to skip town.
You'll have some flowers to pick up and hair to fix. Make sure not to land on a Birthday or an event day.
Playing one town right now would be a good idea. Spending some time with the villagers to get your friendship levels up again helps. Right now I'm getting called a World Traveler.
I tend to play AC sometimes now and I like to tt to the day I was there last to keep villagers from moving. Though the last time I played was December and I forgot to change the year when I tted. I lost a villager I liked, but I got another cool one in a trade. And I never had a wolf villager before so it is fun to have someone different. I am bored with the flowers in town now, but I am not sure how I should change it yet.

I took a break too, just a month, but I only had one town to come back to
Still, mine was fine, it was pretty much all finished ages ago anyway. I just changed my villagers did the making sure I don't lose anybody first before I tt'd to the current date and tidied up any stray flowers and what not. There wasn't really much space for wild flowers to grow to be honest, so I didn't have that much work to do
I came back from hiatus in May, and I couldn't remember what I was doing in my town either...but things were all good. But I hope you were able to find your cartridges, and that things are all good!
