Visit to Club Tortimer

I wonder what everyone experiences about Club Tortimer? I know is a place to meet other player all over the world, randomly, making friends and go tour together.

However, I got a really bad first experiences there and therefore I never visit again until now lol. I met 2 players and they re so rude, and telling me that's their island and I should follow their rules (what I want just a simple visit to see what about the online island) also I am pretty laggy over there. The rude player scare off my bug, running arond, forcing me to go for tour. I got fed up and sit on the chair, pretending to go tour, then once it starting to load I turn off my 3DS wifi hoping that would cost them DC too! Will that happen? I don't know haha~~

Just for sharing what I have experiences at Club Tortimer. But now I am glad to join TBT to know there is actually other kind player out there who I can really make friends with =D

I feel bad but I also have to occasionally laugh at how these people think that that kind of scamming isn't easily avoidable. And really? "Rulers of the island?" That's just... I don't even know where to start... I've actually met some great friends off of that and 1 person I talk to regularly on Miiverse. And there's always the perma-block so you never have to see that scammer ever again.

Yeppp I did block them. But the first impression I get from Club Tortimer made me think that "once a game go online, people won't be nice". But my friend get the opposite feedback, he made friends there and meeting nice people from other place =D For now, I haven't really got the time to visit again haha busy setting up my town, checking forum here and farming of cause!

Oh I did play Miiverse too! People there are nice as well!

I went there once and it wasn't too bad. I've never went back since then though and I probably never will because of all the bad stories I have heard.

Wow really? I didn know much about there I went cos it seem that my friend enjoy there so much and made a few friend. Haha is just me unlucky to met those people on my first trip.

Yea Nintendo made it with the intention so players can communicate and meet each other there. But I guess sometime things just have their pros and cons depend on how each individual use it =)

I've only had positive or neutral experiences in Club Tortimer. Then again, there is usually only one other person when I arrive, and I've only visited the island 3 times, so I wouldn't have much experience.

Perhaps this tell us that, not everybody you meet will be nice to you, but not everyone of them will be bad either.

All this wasn't anything as long as the damage is not in my town itself hahaha~

Ugh club tortimer... worse experience I had so far, one time I was island-hopping looking for the silver axe or the stripe swimsuit and and I was on the international island and this guy came right after me and run to talk to the tour lady, positively "locking" me there in that island and proceed to ask me if I spoke English, I said yes, then he asked me if I was American, again I said yes. He then started harassing me and using sexual innuendo (in a pretty lame way cause he didn't speak english) so I call him a bunch of bad names and flip the switch. So stupid, and he was probably some little kid.

As if the game force player MUST go! can't they just make it like "the player who sign for the tour go and others are not necessary. I also read alot about people blackmailing this way to force player pay 99k or they gonna flip the switch to make both loss.

I think all doing this is probably kids. Someone who can think wisely will not waste time doing such a thing. Just to scam 99k or more bell, wasting more of your time there? Pffff...might as well use that time to farm in own island can earn even more.

I know! 99k in acnl is nothing, I also had a few that tried to hold me hostage, ask for bells or items, etc. I just told them to leave me alone and disconnected if it didn't happen. My only advice is to keep in mind why are you going to club tortimer. If you're staying there long, don't get valuable items and if you're just hunting, make sure you can be by yourself in any island.

I've had pretty good experiences

First official one was between a Japanese girl and I
She couldn't speak English
and I couldn't speak Japanese

It was so cute, as first we were trying to understand what we were saying, but then we just started talking through face symbols and Dr. Shrunk's emotions <3

We played a couple games, it ended up being a half an hour later.

My second best one was with an English girl this time
It was amazing cause we found out we were in the same fandoms.
I was about to leave and I was saying "Alright, bye time to go read Supernatural fanfic"
Then we released all our fandoms lol

I haven't had really a bad experience so far.
