Villagers you regret skipping over?

Anabelle. I was on the part of the game where you had to make three houses and that same day I had gone on a tour and recruited Goldie. I hate having only one colour of villagers and I had Costeau and with Goldie coming in that would have meant I had 2/3 yellow animals.
I decided to leave her behind since I figured I'd have more time to find other nice animals for my island.
... and then it turned out the two open plots auto filled with random animals the next day.
... and one of the random animals was yellow so my overthinking was pointless.
Oops.
Funny you mention Jacob. I had a similar experience. I ran in to him on a tour and I was so confused because it was the first time I didn't recognize a villager. I was more aware of the new villagers in NH than I was of Jacob. I had to look him up and apparently he was added in the Welcome Amiibo NL update yet I still had never heard of him.
