You know, before the game was released I had a list of which villagers I found the most aesthetically pleasing/wanted in my town. But somehow the ones I ended up loving most were the ones I never even considered! So I was wondering: have you ever had a villager that you just plain hated and then that villager somehow became your favorite? It's happened to me a few times.
Here are the villagers with whom it has happened with:
MOTT: I pre-ordered ACNL, but since I ordered it online it didn't arrive until the 11th. By then all of my friends had already started playing so I didn't bother to reset much for the perfect map or for the perfect villagers. I hated all of my original five villagers, including Mott --though I preferred him over the rest. Slowly though, he became my favorite. His jock personality always made my laugh and I could never resist the chance to run a chore for him. Now he is my absolute favorite. I love Eclair, but if he were to leave I'd do anything to get him back! Whether it meant resetting my game or cycling through 16. Oh and did I mention I even drew awful fanart of him?
FUCHSIA: Back when the game was new 'plot resetting' was unheard of. People had no idea that you could choose where your villagers could move into or that you could even control who was moving in. Then AoJones posted this thread teaching people how to do it. The problem was that a lot of people had trouble getting it to work for the 9th villager. So I stepped in and helped AoJones perfect this method. I did a lot of testing and spent a few hours at it. After hours of testing I settled for Fuchsia even though much better looking uchis had come along. I was tired and figured that I could just replace her later on. But to my surprise I ended up loving how tough and cool she was. Like Mott, she is one of my favorites (though not my #1, that spot is reserved for Mott)
TUTU: Tutu is actually pretty cute. But I never really gave her much thought. Then I made Hell and she was one of my original five. It was love at first sight. I love seeing her walk around, reminds me of a giant teddy bear! And she has suggested a bunch of different PWPs also, which is of course a great plus!
KATT: While making Hell I jokingly told my friend that Katt was a dreamie. I pretended to really mean it just to mess with her, but I really didn't want her anywhere near my town. I mean, really... I thought Katt was one of the ugliest villagers in game. Then around the fourth day in Hell (I believe) I was running around town when suddenly I saw a fenced plot for her. My first reaction was to laugh then I was slightly bothered. Then I actually saw her in game and I really liked her. I mean, she is still ugly. But there is something endearing about her! And I love how she always looks as though she pulled a prank on someone.
