You know what's annoying? When you want one of your villagers to move out and then they come up to you all "Hey I think I'm gonna move on" and you reply like, "YAY get outta here!" And then they say "LOL Actually I think we need to be better friends so i'm staying. HA fooled you!"

I just want them to leave! I want to get my dream villagers and twice in a row villagers have decided to stay when I told them to leave. Because screw logic.

Because the friendship isn't high enough^^ don't ignore them just be friend and when they told you they wanna move they will =)

Hahaha I am currently on the same task as you xD Currently getting villagers move out for dreamies to come in =x

It took me 5 hours to get Flurry out for my friend. The horror! T_T This is the longest I took to get a villager out

I just keep going to Isabelle and saying bad things about them! I also never speak to them except when one of my dreamies asks me to deliver something. Gigi is a bad frog, I'd rather not talk about all her new clothes or whatever.

Complaining to Isabelle does nothing besides changing their catchphrase or clothing.

To the OP - if a villager asks you to move and then changes his/her mind about moving, you can quit without saving. Then just proceed to ignore the villager until the moving date and they will move out as planned.

I would try that trick but I don't really do much stuff like that. I try to play normally for my enjoyment. Thank you for telling me though, it explains the random changes from the ones I don't like.

Sounds like a plan! Truffles and Tex changed their mind and decided to stay. Bleh.

Also, the higher your friendship, the more likely they will ask to move (no, that doesn't make much sense in real life but that's how it works in the game).

I wouldn't normally do the trick either unless I really REALLY wanted someone out.
Right now, I've got 9 dreamies and only 1 villager I don't care for but I'm going to wait for them to move out naturally. :)

It took me 2 months to cycle out Carmen. And there were weeks where I would do nothing but TT for hours straight. We were at pretty high friendship too, but that might just be an outlier.

sigh.

I had three in a row do this same thing and one of them had already given me their picture (not by resetting to get it).

I'm doing the very same, trying to get rid of Antonio to make room for Beau from my 2nd town... I found a guide that suggested making a new character then introducing yourself to everyone including the one you want to get rid of, then completely ignoring that villager and apparently they'll leave within a week. Well I tried it, it didn't work and I thought to myself that I don't want Antonio to be in a state when he doesn't ping me, I need to know his boxes date in advance so I have time to switch to my other town to do the same with Beau. I deleted the new character I made and switched back to Emma, and following a guide I found on another site, which suggested its OK to TT 4 days after a ping and 2 days if nobody pings or rumours a mover in conversation. So far I've lost nobody using this method, but my game is already at the end of April and Antonio still hasn't pinged me to move, it's so annoying!

Does anyone have any tips on getting a villager to ask to move? I've had Clyde since I started (June 9, 2013) and he refuses to move. He has never asked, while villagers who have been there a couple months have asked and moved out.
