Villagers wearing customs from Able's

Guys I didn't know they would get it... 3 villagers in and I really regret it. Can I take it back somehow?

I read that displaying simple patterns over the pro patterns you already have in your Able's and gifting new clothes to the villagers might solve this. Actually I like my animals wearing my creations lol so many are walking around wearing a Juventus jersey today.

All villager will wear them, they're not permanent tho. They just will wear them for awhile then swap back.

Yeah, they just really wanna support you they mention that you designed it and they wanna show the world.

It's not a part of their inventory tho. thank god cause I've made some ugly trash before

If it really bothers you, you can talk to Isabelle. She only stops the villagers from wearing custom designs so they go back to wearing their default clothes or whatever clothes have been gifted to them.

Yesterday I had about 4 or 5 of my characters all wearing my custom dress at the same time

I'm so paranoid about strangers posting custom designs in my Able Sisters, it puts me off hosting more than one visitor at a time.

Such a weird design choice from Nintendo to allow that.

I tried displaying simple patterns. It's been about two weeks now and not a single villager has been wearing them (they're still wearing pro patterns from a few weeks prior), so I think this method works. I just have to gift Ozzie enough shirts so he stops wearing the pink bunny cardigan I put up about a month ago...

What annoys me even more is that villagers will still wear custom designs from their past town. Got a villager from someone who told me they were original, and ended up seeing her with a custom design. They probably just didn't know, but its weird that the custom designs carry over. I hope talking to Isabelle could solve that.

Unfortunately yes. People typically don't put up their designs unless they were invited for that reason. It's the people who make inappropriate designs that hang them up that are the real jerks.

You can replace them with your own design when that happens. Villagers will still wear custom hats so as far as I know, there's no way to reset it back to the default designs

It's just crazy that this is in the game.

Random visitors can't dig up flowers which you could regrow, but they can upload all manner of offensive designs which are practically impossible to remove?

WHY!!!?

Just make it so that only best friends have this access.

You can remove the offensive designs. You just hang up one of your own.

That's good to know, but what if you don't want any of your own designs up in Ables, as you don't want your villagers wearing those either?

They are you out of luck there. You can make some plain designs. My villagers don't wear my designs often and when they do, it's not for very long. They switch back to gifted clothing eventually.

I still don't get why this is even a thing, though - why don't they just let us have some control over who can post designs on our island?

Best friends would seem fine, strangers not so much.

I didn't want to put any of my own designs just yet because I wanted to work and put efford in them but now I felt like obligated to do it

I was wondering, do villagers wear the simple patterns or just the pro patterns (jumpers, dresses, shirts...) or can they wear both?

I don't know about the simple ones but they do wear all the pro patterns. My villagers wear my hat design occasionally

I will try displaying a simple pattern for now and see if it works, at least until I can start working on the pro-designs
