Villagers wearing custom designs?

Does anyone know if it's possible to make a villager wear a specific design that you made? For example, I made a design for Lopez. Normally if I wanted him to wear something, I would send it to him in the mail but I don't think it's possible to send designs through the mail because they don't count as clothing. I'm hoping there's an easier way than waiting for him to wear my design that I already put up at the Able Sisters.

So is there a way to get a villager to wear one specific custom design without waiting for them to naturally decide to wear it out of the other three designs randomly?

I know that but is there a quicker way rather than waiting for them to wear one and if they do, wear the one I want out of the other three designs?

I made several variations on the same design and put six of them in my store.

So far, two have picked it up.

Don't think there is any other way I'm afraid, and of course someone else may end up wearing it instead!
