I'm not sure if I'm imagining it or if they added this with an update but it seems like now my villagers will walk along custom designs I place on the ground almost as if it was an actual path I put down with island designer. It's really cool and makes me more inclined to use custom designs as paths. Has anyone else noticed this or am I totally imagining it? It's also possible their pathfinding is just trying to avoid flowers and weeds or something...

I haven’t noticed this but if this is new with the update that’s so cool! It could also be like you suggested that they just try to avoid flowers, but I know I’ve seen my villagers walk through flowers. I wonder though how they know what designs are paths and which ones aren’t? Unless it was just a coincidence?
Honestly it was probably just a coincidence :') but I'm not sure why specifying whether or not the design is a path isn't a feature
