As soon as Deirdre moved in to my town today, Sparro pinged me and said he is thinking of moving out of town. Mind you, this is NOT the first time he's talked about moving out so when he finally pinged me again today, I, without hesitation, said yes!! Well, he quickly took his word back and said I might not work out anymore as soon as he leaves the town therefore he's going to stay! >__> I've been fooled!

Has this ever happened to you? Which villager keeps psyching you out like this, making you believe a false truth?!

Maybe you need to become better friends with him. When you're not good friends with a villager, I think, they can sometimes change their minds and decide to stay longer.

Croque, the little grumpy frog. Although it's more of he's only asked me once or twice, literally. I just have a hard time getting him to be the one to ping me. Back when he did I foolishly said no, thinking "oh he'll ask again sooner or later!" ... Later hasn't come yet haha. >.<

I have had Kid Cat ask me a thousand times though. It's almost like he's trying to tell me something... but I just ignore it and tell him "no, you can never leave me!" XD

It's kind of a pain to have to do, but if you expect someone is going to ping you to move and you save before talking to them, if they change their mind you can just close without saving, re-open, and they should keep pinging you about moving! I had to do that like, twice with Julian in my old cycling town so I could get him in my main x_x

And recently I was trying soooo hard to get rid of Peck, because he unexpectedly moved right into my hedge garden space. I tend to do the whole "Introduce yourself and never speak to them again method to get villagers to leave, and it took me weeeeks and he still wouldn't ping me to move. So finally I was like, "I'll just be his BEST FRIEND EVER and maybe THEN he'll move!" and... I realized that I had never actually introduced myself.

He decided to move the next day u_u

When that happens, you could just quit without saving and load the game again.. Might be too late if you already saved ;__;.

When a villager is planning to move and you really want them to move away, don't talk to the villager again til he or she is actually in boxes. They can change their mind about it... When I was new to the game, I wanted Rocket to leave my town and she told me she'd move out so I was happy. But a few days later she pinged me again so I talked to her and she told me she had changed her mind and she would stay instead...xD so yeah. And from my experience, having high friendship with a villager makes them want to move even more. If you're not good friends with them they'll say they want to get to know you better so they won't move ;__;

I suppose you may be right because I hardly talk to him lol! I have been so busy renovating my town that I have hardly any time to talk to my villagers :-/ I'll try harder to become better friends with him (but for what? so I can let him move out XD)

This is the worst, my boyfriend did this with someone he wanted to sell, he made me make the post to sell her and everything before he agreed, and then she was like "Oh I'm just kidding I could never move out!" and just walked off, it was the first I'd ever heard it. I have however had the villagers who come back like the next day with cold feet asking for sure if you want them to leave. But I had never had then switch their mind in the same convo. I do have villagers that wont ping or anything, it's awful.

When I had Monty in my town (he was someone else's voided villager, ugh) he took FOREVER to leave. Literally everyone else in town asked multiple times before he ever did, and when he did and I told him to go, he changed his mind, so I had to turn off my console and then I just avoided him, haha xD it took him so long to leave though, ugh, especially since I don't TT either!

I have made that mistake before! I said no when I was asked by a villager, then I realized I actually wanted them out but then took a long time to ask me again!

Kid Cat is a different story. I would totally keep him forever and ever! He's so cute!

Hey, I'm the guy who you adopted Deirdre from. It took me a long time to finally run her out of town XD. But I completely agree with you that Kid Cat is worth keeping forever and ever and ever :)

Hey! I would not forget who I got Deirdre from! :D By the way, she moved right on my pathway, smashing a bunch of trees and bushes XD I don't do plot reset so I am not too mad about it. I'm actually a little excited that she moved right next to my house! She wants to be besties!! Plus I am renovating my town so I am just going to take that as a hint on changing the pathway a little bit~

I always plot reset because I just hate having villagers on my pathways. The downside is that if it takes me a few hours to plot them, I start to question whether they are really my dreamies. I love my dreamies, but next to my house is a little too close for comfort for me.

At least Deirdre wasn't in my way that much. Kody was one of my original villagers and he had his house where I wanted to put mine and he was a real pain to get rid of. I had to delay building my cafe for a couple of months (this was before I started TTing) because of Goldie and she was stubborn about leaving. As you saw in my town, I'm getting really tired of Jay and his house parked right in front of my beach access.

I am glad that so many people agree that Kid Cat is not allowed to leave ever.

But you'll never have the relationship that I have with him.

OH MY GOSH! That is terrible, but a funny story about your experience with Peck! But I am glad Peck is no longer taking up space in your hedge garden! I'll be sure not to make the same mistake :P By the way, you are not alone about that whole "Introduce myself and never speak to you again" thing. Benjamin moved to my town. I introduced myself and haven't spoken to him since. I am so bad! XD
