Villagers that don't move!

I just had Ribbot tell me that Bree was thinking of moving out, and that I should check into it. Well...I checked into it. I got the !!! over her head, and I was given the choice. I gave her the answer favoring her to move, but she talked herself out it! Has anyone else experienced this? I would also like to know if it also means that I will have to get rumors that everyone else in town is moving before her name comes up again? She's the only one left in town that I don't want to keep! I can't even believe it, I wish I just didn't look into it and TT'd her out.

I have had a rumor from Coach that Gloria was thinking of moving and she did! So was happy about that. Phil has the "!" above his head and asked to leave... I was like yeh... go on then, get out my town, but then he wanted to stay. I was like O_O

That's why you've got to ignore them completely if you want them to move out. Otherwise, if you talk to them when prompted to, there's a good chance that they'll decide to stay no matter what reply you pick.

What I sometimes do is save and continue after a villager tells me someone is moving. When I then talk to the moving villager and they want to stay, I just reset the game and try again xP This is certainly not a good method if you have the reset center and so, but it's a guaranteed safety net

Hippeaux did that crap to me!! I wanted him out because his house was right in the middle of my fruit orchard so I said good luck and he was like...well, we need to be better friends. He is now gone but it took FOREVER and when Pompom said she was moving I was scared she would swtich it up on me when I said dont go. She didnt and is still in town

Did they say something along the lines of 'Nah, I need to explore this town more actually!' or something like that. If that happened that means you need to become closer friends

If you hear from another villager that one of your unwanted villagers is moving, ignore said unwanted villager. And if you'd feel bad about ignoring them if they spot you and go !!!, sneak around your town like a ninja so they don't see you.

Actually, I haven't saved yet...so it's a posibility that I can turn off my game and get yelled at by Resetti. Are you familiar with resetting and it being the same character that the rumor applies to?

The same character will want to move again if you reset. As for Resetti, just choose "I don't remember" and he says only about 5 lines of dialogue.

Is it possible that you tell them they can't move, but they still move anyway?
