Villagers still wearing ugly clothes?

So I thought going to isabelle and telling her a villagers clothing bothers you was supposed to reset it back to default. I tried this 3 times, waited a day, still hasnt worked. Tammy is walking around in a jester hat like booboo the fool. Anyone else have this happen?

Unfortunately Isabelle's clothing reset does not work with headgear and only applies to the shirt slot. And even then, whatever you don't want them to wear remains in their "inventory" and they can choose to wear it again later.

The only part of their wardrobe Isabelle permanently resets is custom designs

I'm pretty sure telling Isabelle about villagers' clothing is specifically to get rid of custom designs that other people might have made that are offensive, not just for when you don't happen to like an in-game item they're wearing.

Nope, people have also had an issue with custom designs from other towns not resetting as well, I don't recommend getting a villager form anyone unless they're 100% original

This is true from my experience as well. Reporting to Isabelle regarding a costume design, will simply make them revert to their original. It does not mean that it has been removed from their "closet". I deleted a costume design that someone placed but some of my villagers are still wearing from time to time.

It's so annoying and makes the whole "reporting to Isabelle" feature completely useless imo

Yes but the other clothes that were given to them or custom designs will remain in their wardrobe and the villagers will change clothes periodically

no they rotate outfits everyday. I gave dom like.. 25 things and he wears them all randomly.

Yeesh, really? Hopefully that means this is a bug and will eventually be fixed!
