Villagers no longer giving me brand new furniture?

So I used to hunt down requests for fruit because every single time I gave my villager a perfect fruit that wasn't my town fruit, or if they specifically asked for a perfect pear, and I gave it to them, they would always, ALWAYS give me a furniture item that I hadn't catalogued yet. This did not fail me for A LONG TIME, since I started doing it months ago. But the last 2 times, I was only rewarded with items I already had... So, what happened?? Does anyone know?? I loved doing this because it was helping me fill up my catalogue with the things you could buy at Timmy & Tommy's at least (not clothes or exclusives). And now, it doesn't seem to work anymore Which makes me really sad..

By the time I finally got a perfect cherry from my husband and started growing perfect fruit trees in my town, I either already had the gold catalog badge or I was really close to it. I can't remember which.

I've never heard of this trick before, though. If it works, I'd love to use it when I start my next town because working towards that gold catalog badge is such a long, painful process.

Just remember, if they ask for fruit (any fruit), make sure you give them a perfect fruit that is NOT native to your town. Only give a perfect native fruit if they specifically ask for it.

Anyway, I also have the golden catalog badge already, but I'm aiming for 100% lol. I'm very close. I've been keeping track through moridb. I prefer to get most items naturally in game but if I'm in dire need of an item that I don't have right away for interior decorating purposes, I'm known to buy it off of people here hehe.

I'm gonna try that now in one of my towns, this is really cool. As for your question, maybe you have all the furniture now? And the 20% of the catalogue you're missing is stuff like shoes, umbrellas, Gyriods ect...

I thought that at first but I just checked.. I still have a bunch of furniture I still need from Timmy & Tommy.. then I checked if maybe they only gave spotlight items since I completed my number lamps from this and they're spotlight items but most of the stuff i got from this weren't spotlight items.. so i really don't know why it stopped working. it stopped working maybe 3 days ago and I'm really confused and sad.
