Villagers Moving question

If I have a villager in boxes, and have a villager I want to adopt from another village, do I need to wait until my villager has moved or can I visit the other villager on the same day?

(Hope that makes sense!!)

Pretty sure your villager has to be gone first.
I don't have experience with adopting from someone else when someone was in boxes, but I tried to get someone to move in from my campsite when I had a villager in boxes, and she wouldn't even bring up the option lol

of course if you only have 9 villagers atm it shouldn't be a problem I think?

If you have 10 villagers, then you must have the villager in boxes moved out before you adopt. If you have 9 they will move in, but it usually takes a day or two longer, so if you have time I'd suggest moving your villager in boxes out first
