Villagers Moving Out question

It's my understanding that if a villager wants to move out and you say no, it's gonna take at the least two weeks until someone else asks to go? I have a villager leaving and I kinda don't want him to go, but I also want someone new to meet... and if it's gonna take at the minimum amount two weeks I might agree to let him go :\

No, I do not believe that is the case. I've had a villager ask, I told them no, and then had another villager ask within the next day or two.

Two weeks is probably the most it will take. It can take less amount of time than that, but people who cycle do it by 15 days at a time to ensure that someone will ask to leave whenever the game loads up.

I've been tracking this in my game:

Mar. 20 - started playing.
April 03 - Sherb asked to move out. I said no.
April 09 - Wolfgang asked to move out. I said no.
April 14 - Lucha asked to move out. I said yes.

Had a new villager move in April 16. Expecting someone to ask any day now.

I had Fuchsia ask to leave, then Kid Cat, and then Olive, all within a week of each other. I said no to all of them because I have attachment issues, but they still asked

It takes longer for villager to ask whenever someone new moves into your town, like around 2 weeks, but after that someone will ask to move out every 5 to 9 days (or one every week).
