hello, I'm not the smartest when it comes to all the tricks that people have came up with for acnl. so I have a silly question.

do villagers move in any random day (excluding when someone moves out and then someone moves in the next day) if you have 8 - 10 villagers? like, all three of those numbers? I only really see people mention 8 or 10, but what if I have 9 villagers??

I guess I'm just confused when the neck I'm supposed to keep doing the reset trick daily. I feel so confused like I have to do it daily all the time with no break... when do you start and when do you stop?

I'm just confused keeping track of all this lol, sorry if I'm repeating something obvious.

The only way to get a 10th villager is through the campsite, someone's void, or convincing one in boxes to move to your town. Otherwise, your count will just stay at 9.

At 9 villagers you will stop getting random move-ins. In order to get a 10th villager in town you must invite them from the campsite or another player's town. There's also the void/steetpass but I'm less clear on how that works. Obviously amiibo is always an option, as well.

As for timing the move-in days, in my opinion, if you have 8 villagers or below, it's always safer to be prepared for a move in. I'm not really into amiibo cards so in order to get my dreamies I did the old-fashioned reset trick and it worked wonders for me. I got all of my villagers excluding Ruby by just anticipating move-ins & resetting a lot (very time consuming but also exciting).

Ohhh, okay, that makes a lot more sense. So pretty much, if I have 9 villagers, I should prepare for a move out. And try to do the reset trick daily if I have 8. Simpler than I thought if that's how it goes! :p

also, mountaintear, that's awesome it worked out mostly for you:D you have really cute villagers!
