If you don't play the game for a while - let's say two months - how many villagers can or will move out during that time and how many will move in?

I know that every few days a villager starts thinking of moving, but how does it work exactly? If I don't play for two months, do I risk coming back to a village where all my villagers have moved out and new ones have moved in, or will it only be one that has moved out and a new one will move in after I have begun playing again?

Ive noticed the more you play daily, the more move out. I once time traveled 2 years and came back to see no one had moved out. Thats not to say you should feel free to abandon your game come back expecting that everyone is still around. I think if you left for two months, 1 villager will have moved out at most, and if that was your 9th villager, yes some else will have moved in. In wild world, if you left for a year, yah a lot of people would be gone, but i think they stabilized this in new leaf. The game and its cpu's (aka the villagers) seems to lay slightly dormant while your away for long periods of time.

In a nut shell. If you have to leave it alone for two months or a long period of time, make sure no villager is wanting to move out, if there is a villager whom wants to move, either tell him/her no (this will ensure all the same villagers there when you come back) or, tell them yes (this will be the only villager that moves while your gone). If this method does not work you did it wrong by not checking thoroughly enough or you or someone else played your game during the two months, and did not make sure no one wanted to move before they left it alone again.

I realize this is lengthy but read every bit to insure your favorites being ok while your gone.
