Villagers moving flowers?

I had a few pink roses in a specific spot, and when I went to that spot one of the pink roses had been replaced with a yellow one and now I can't find the pink rose. Did it get moved someplace else or is it gone forever? Also, is there a way to prevent your villagers from moving flowers?

Try checking if the villagers have it in their homes. Otherwise, I don't know how you could prevent it.

If you and a villager both planted a flower in that spot at the same time, then it appears the yellow rose won the battle causing the pink one to be gone forever.

Usually villagers dont take flowers, but sometimes they take flowers and put them in their house.
If you have a police station, make sure to check there as well, since for some reason flowers
Seem to turn up there as well.

I've never seen this happen. Are you sure it does? I've only seen them plant new flowers and water flowers.
