Villagers I talk to the most want to leave?

Ankha and diana have asked to leave, I send them letters and do them favors and talk to them EVERYDAY I talk to NOBODY else most of the time. Yet theyre the only ones that have wanted to leave?? Im almost hurt by this lol

They are close with me and we do house visits a lot and im so confused

I really do think it's random who decides to ping. my precious Skye asked to leave pretty soon after she moved-in, even though I always talk with her. but I know how you feel, it's hurts! c':

I believe this is because since you have reached high levels of friendship with them, the game wants to move them out so you can meet and befriend new villagers. Some people believe that it is purely random, however.

I have had villagers like Diana and Deirdre who I talk to every day, ALWAYS fulfill requests for, send letters to, and have received multiple pictures from, ping to move several times. However I have also had villagers that I rarely talk to or interact with ask to move after less than a couple weeks of being in town. So I cannot say for sure how it works...

aww that's sort of bittersweet if that's true c: like you'll always be friends but there is no harm in making new ones!

Isn't it? And, coming from someone who's had the same villagers for months now, the longer you keep the same set of villagers, the more often someone will try to move. I hear about someone moving on nearly a daily basis now. Pierce wanted to move yesterday, then Whitney today. That's become the first thing I do any more.

I guess it's supposed to be random, but I swear that Tabby and Phoebe ping me all the time. Rarely anyone else ever asks to leave. I won't allow them to go yet, but maybe one day...

It's definitely random. Colton moved in once and asked to leave less than a week after that. My oldest favorites (Chrissy, Mira, and Wolfgang) have all asked to leave at least twice within days of each other.
