So I had Reneigh in my campsite. I believe it was April 29t or 30th in my game. I already had 10 villagers, but I got her to kick someone out, and she chose Muffy. I meant to TT to May 1st, but I accidentally TTed to May 30th. I then TTed back to April 1st, and started skipping every 1-2 days. It was only on the 10th that I realized her house exterior is Muffy's house exterior.

I heard there was something similar going on with amiibo card villagers, however I didn't know something like this could happen with a camper who came naturally? I also included the dates because I'm unsure if my time travel shenanigans have anything to do with this. I'm also wondering if she's not safe to adopt anymore because of this? I plan on deleting my island and wanted to sell some of my villagers, however the issue with Reneigh makes me feel like I may not be able to sell her.

If anyone could give me some insight as to what's going on that'd be great? I admittedly haven't been super up to date with all the bugs and stuff so if there's something I don't know about please feel free to tell me. :0

I haven't encountered any glitches I've seen posted here yet, thankfully. But I have encountered a glitch myself, recently, which was either always present or happened after the update. When I buy clothing from the Abels sister shop, sometimes I get two of the same color in my inventory when I clearly only purchased one of that specific color and the other of another. I bought a white and a black dress, and had two white dresses in my inventory, but in my catalog it showed I bought them both, proving I wasn't imagining things. This also has hap happened more than once.

Time travelling backwards when having a camper replace a villager causes the new villager to have the exterior of the removed villager.

Had it happen to me like day 1 of the game coming out when I used my amiibo and I was so confused
Sadly only way to fix it is to boot them out and renivite them

Reneigh had already moved in though because I accidentally went forward to May 30th. I only time traveled backwards after that. I feel like maybe I'm missing the point here, ah. Feel free to clarify.

Ah, Reneigh was a camper who came naturally though. She also doesn't have a card either unfortunately. 😔

I believe its just at any point in the move in process, if you go backwards the exterior bugs out. I think once they're unpacked THEN you go back it should be fine? I'm not sure, I only know the cause of it is time travel backwards.

Yeah I think that's why I'm confused because she had totally moved in since I accidentally time travelled a month ahead. So she was outside interacting with other villagers and walking around like normal.

Time traveling forwards without letting the plot become empty can glitch the house, happened to me.....
It's best to time travel day by day rather than straight to when they move in.

Ah jeez really? That makes me wonder if that's the case even if you didn't time travel (like skipped two days of AC because you were busy or something).
I assume they wouldn't be safe to adopt?

I know Nintendo removed glitched villagers from peoples' islands in 1.2.0, even if the villager seemed perfectly fine. So I think if this exterior glitch has been brought to their attention and they are going to fix it in the next patch, them the villager might disappear, as that would be the only way to fix the glitch....But this is just my thinking. You can save the villager by kicking them out, letting someone adopt them and then have them kick out again and inviting them back to your island. Kicking them out and letting someone else adopt them will result in them having the right house exterior on their island most likely.
