Villagers and exotic fruit

Sorry in advance if this has already been posted but I haven't seen a topic like this before, so here goes

I have noticed that whenever my villagers ask for fruit, it's always village fruit (i.e. apples, cherries, oranges peaches or pears). They never ask for exotic fruit, even though I have all the exotic fruit trees growing in my town.

Has anybody else noticed this too? Has anybody else had a villager ask them for exotic fruit before?

They never ask for exotic fruit, but my villagers don't tend to ask for a specific kind of fruit. They just ask for fruit, so I can give them whichever I want.

It is so odd. I'm going to start keeping records to see what they ask for and when. Tonight, Coco asked for an orange.

Funnily enough, they'll give you exotic fruit as a gift sometimes.

They've obviously made a few trips to the island without the mayor knowing, LOL.

They never ask for exotic fruit. Idk why they don't, and it's really odd. If a villager has a specific fruit request, it'll only ever be the common fruits, like oranges, pears, apples, etc. If they ask for any type of fruit, then it really doesn't matter what you give them, whether it's common or exotic. On a side note: I've also noticed that once in a while villagers will ask for perfect fruit. But yeah, I guess the AC people didn't think/forgot to program villagers to crave exotic fruits. Tbh, that would've been kinda cool. If they can give away exotic fruits, why can't they crave them? It's a little silly when you think about it.

I think one villager asked for exotic fruit once. But they always seem to give me exotic fruit. Mostly I just fed them to Shrunk. But now I don't bother shaking the trees that aren't perfect fruit trees.

Villagers only ask for fruit that can be native to a town. I'm not sure why, but this might have to do with the whole friendship thing. If you go above and beyond in a task, such as getting a rare fish when they ask for any fish, a rare bug, rare furniture, or perfect fruit when they ask for regular, it boosts their friendship with you more than it would if you give something average to them.

I have had two occurrences of villagers requesting perfect fruit. Most of the time it is for any fruit, although Peanut keeps on asking for cherries specifically the last two times.

My villagers just ask me for my native fruit, though I have mangoes, peaches, bananas, and durians :/ Quite odd, really. Maybe villagers aren't as up-to-date with what goes on outside the town as we are xD

I guess it makes sense that they don't ask for exotic fruit as you can't get perfect versions and they are worth half as much as the other fruits.
