I hope they bring every villager from New Leaf back, don?t want to miss someone. Which villagers do you want to return? And what are your wishes for brand new villagers? (species or just wishes for existing types of animals)
You have seen some new villager somewhere? Post it here!

For me, Rio and Zoe needs to come back. I also want some purple ursula kinda snooty octopus.
As a new species I have no real idea, I would take everything! :) The fanmade idea of bats long time ago was really nice

I would love to see as many older animals return as possible, even the ones who weren't in New Leaf. This time around I want to try and get some villager photos, so the more the better.

New species... lets see. Bats, of course, were a great idea. My partner is fond of ferrets, so I'd like to see those as well. Maybe badgers?

I want more wolves that aren't cranky and snooty. I hate that they changed Dobie's personality in wa.

I want Jacob to come back, super old character. He was brought to NL in the big update.

Honestly not even a fan of his look, species, or personality- but what a name!

Beau and Rex must return! I hope they add in Rex other than just with the card.

As far as I'm aware, they have no excuse not to have every villager in this game. Wild World's purge was due to data size, and its effects have no reason to still be a thing today.

If for some reason they start getting rid of villagers, I would hope they keep Sprocket. They removed him once before and I don't want that to happen again.

I need Sprinkle and Pietro to stay in the game. Sprinkle is cute and pretty chill so i’m not worried for her, but there is a love hate divide with my favorite clown Pietro and i’m scared he wont be back

I don't know why they wouldn't bring back 99% of the villagers. It's becoming less of a problem in modern games where storage limitations are an issue. Nintendo should optimize the space they have so they should go for it!

Every villager that was in New Leaf should be back in New Horizons. As others have said, there isn't a storage issue with cutting villagers like in Wild World.

If Porter is not in the game, Champ should be back as well.

I don't think, however, we're going to see nearly as many new villagers. There will still be quite a few, and maybe even a new species, but probably not as many new ones as in New Leaf. There are so many villagers that eventually the series will reach its carrying capacity. Adding another 100 villagers would be almost too much. I'm expecting we get ~50 villagers, including a new species. Some of these may returning villagers that weren't brought back in Welcome Amiibo.

I agree with what MapleSilver said about removing so many villagers due to how much the DS can handle. Now that they're on a stronger system they can add more villagers in the game, even return all villagers (Even the Sanrio, Crossovers, and of course, Holden, Filly and Champ) in AC Switch. Thing is, if they return more villagers it won't be all of them.

About the new villagers, they've always added new villagers in since Wild World, but didn't include as many because again, DS space limit. Same goes for the Wii. But the 3DS was stronger, so it had 100 new villagers to include.

Because the Switch is stronger than its leading competitors, its no doubt we'll be having more than 100 new villagers. Possibly 150 or 200 new villagers. Jeez!

I'd like it if nearly all the villagers returned. I hope the Welcome Amiibo villagers come back too, otherwise I'm just going to move Cece and Viche into my New Leaf towns.

No game is complete without my bae Kiki.
I would not be sad if they cut out all the special amiibo villagers from New Leaf. Dobie was cool tho, I hope he makes a return in NH.

I want to say its safe to assume any and all villagers from New Leaf and Welcome Amiibo will return, which is over 380 or so. There are about 70+ villagers that have been cut from previous games that haven't returned, or that have only appeared in the Japanese version of the first game. If they manage to add the rest in, AND add new villagers to boot, we could see close to 500+ villagers, which, a game as big as this, seems ridiculous but amazing.

I hope we can move in more than 10 this time. So far, no game has gotten close to Population Growing?s 15 villager count. With the prospect of having a maximum of 8 human villagers in the game, that is my only concern about how many animal villagers we will get.

I don't think we will get every villager back and new ones on top of that. I think its more likely that we see 50-80 new villagers and about 200-300 returning. While data space is no longer an issue, graphic design is. The textures and models in NL are nothing compared to NH. Also, we've seen that the interior of their houses is also well designed. I would much rather have 250-350 villagers with lots of new dialogue that are well designed than have like 500 villagers. Also, its completely possible they will have certain villagers release after launch like we got the welcome amiibo update.

They haven't made cuts since Wild World. City Folk had all WW villagers plus more. New Leaf had all CF villagers (except Champ) + more + DLC. It would be rather disappointing if they made cuts again since Switch more superior device than a 3DS, plus if they plan on adding amiibo functionality, and would be stupid not to, people will have a handful of unusable cards if their favorite village got the axe. Cuts are not going to happen. We probably won't get as many newcomers and returnees as last time (and by returnees I mean villagers like Woolio, Oxford, Ace, Madam Rosa, etc.), but I don't see them taking anything away.
