Villager Suggestions & Town Theme Ideas

For my second town, I decided to make it themed. It's inspired by The Dionaea House, which is an internet story about a series of murders that take place -- all revolving around a house that lures its victims in like a venus flytrap {hence the name of the story}. For the main house, part of it will be Sweets themed because the house{s} in the story are said to smell like a bakery.

For the overall feel of the town, I want things to be a little off. For example, the buildings won't be perfectly aligned. I'll probably end up having 4 houses with completely different downstairs interiors, but all the upstairs will be exactly the same. I might even end up trying to make all the furniture of my {animal} villagers the same.

What I need help with is villager suggestions. I have 2 ideas. One would be to find ones that fit the theme of being a little off. The only ones I can think of would be Peaches, Stitches, and Ribbot. They aren't exactly animals strictly speaking.

The second one would be to find villagers that all have the same house exterior {roof color/door type not counting}. I'm slightly leaning more towards this second option because, to me, it would be a little off-putting to have every house exactly {well, nearly} the same.

I do want different personality types, though.
So, firstly: Should I go with option 1, and which villagers? or
Should I go with option 2...and which villagers?

I like your second idea more, personally. As for villagers, I'd definitely look into getting Cranston. I always thought the inside of his place was... off.

If you're still doing this, I'd like to toss a few more suggestions your way. I agree with the Coco idea. There's her look, the fact that she has gyroids in her house, and the fact that she plays K.K. Dirge in her house. Her house even has the same exterior shape as Cranston. So, if you're going with these two, you're looking for houses shaped like THIS.

If we're going with this theme, I'd like to start with Rizzo. He has the same house exterior, and always has suspicious-looking eyes. There's also Renee, who has a messy-looking interior as well as a chalkboard. Could she be planning things? This one is a stretch, but what about Gigi? She has the same exterior, but there's also her words to live by. "Look at the world through rose-colored glasses." To look at something through rose-colored glasses means that you see something as more pleasant than it really is. A little less of a stretch is Tabby. Same exterior, and a permanent expression that many find creepy.
