Villager Resetting Woes

So, uh, wow... I guess this'll be a little bit of a vent pfft... I'd read a post saying that, in the initial stages of being mayor, that plot resetting Julian would be fairly easy. I figured this was true, due to the fact that they're locked in by personality. I, uh...

Well, I had to knock the lazy category out by getting Punchy. Theeen I had to knock uchi out as well, by getting Pashmina, because I slowly realized that doing it with so many characters would be futile.

So having just smug would be easy, right..?

I've gotten 3 Marshal plots now, and no Julian plots. I've been doing this all day and have already passed out for like three hours, and I'm so tired of this, but...

I was just curious; should I KEEP this third Marshal and trade him? I don't really want to, seeing as it'd take eons to get him to move out, but I'm so tired and I have a doctor's appointment.

Keep Marshal and trade later, or keep plot resetting to see if I get my instant gratification? >:

I would say wait for Julian, but I ended up settling for Beau because I was sick of resetting so I'm not one to talk. There are a lot fewer smug villagers though so it should be easier to get him. I was lucky enough to get Julian on my first try though, and in a semi-decent spot too.

Alright, thank you. D: The RNG gods have been merciless with me today... First I was resetting to roll this town, and now I've been resetting to get Julian... I think my log says I've started AC 250-300 times today. hahahaha sobs

I keep getting Quillson, Curlos and Graham, and I actually haven't seen like six other smugs :/ I'm just concerned that my chances are insanely poor due to whatever cosmic being has decided the RNG must not play in my favor ever again omg

250-300? I give up after like 30 tries. But maybe you'll like one of the other smug villagers if you decide to go with one. I never intended to get Genji, but I ended up settling for him because I was sick of resetting and now he's one of my favorite villagers.

Ah, unfortunately I have my heart set on Julian for this town XD;;; No other. Keep in mind part of those ARE rolls for this actual town, which overall I think I've reset my second and third copies maybe 500 times to get what I wanted altogether? So I guess you could say I do have drive, or... Stamina... Or whatever it is... But plot resetting is time sensitive and requires me to be up all day and night trying, which is mostly why I asked D;

Like keep resetting until a villager you want puts down a plot for the first 9 villagers? Is there a guide to it anywhere that I can read because I have no idea how to do that. Oh! No worries! Uhhh... I've read a ton of guides just by googling it but I forget where the good one was. So I can just tell you what I did. I ****ed up bad with my first roll of this third town and had to delete it and reroll, so you DO have to be a bit careful.

I had my first 5 in, leaving smug, uchi and lazy left for me to acquire. That meant, no matter what I did or how many times I rolled, it would ALWAYS draw from all 3 pools, unless I started knocking them out by accepting one of the plots.

So basically, today... Yesterday... I don't know what day it is... It was the 26th. On my mayor, I TT'ed to 5:58 am of the 27th, because the next plot would show up next day guaranteed since it's within the first 8. I saved and quit on my mayor, NEVER to touch her again unless I wanted to change time again. I then go through the rigamarole of making a new character, waiting with Rover until PAST 6 AM, then once everything is reset for the day, going and running around to see whose plot was up. If I didn't like it, which 99% of the time, I didn't, I press the home button and exit the game without saving. If, however, I did like who was there, say, when I got Punchy, I talked to Isabelle, talked to Nook, made my house, talked to Isabelle again, then saved and quit. Then I loaded up my mayor and maybe set the time for later so the shops would be open, and it was all set! UNREQUIRED: I would TT backwards so they'd move into the plot and be in boxes, then repeat the process since I had the next personality type waiting for me. Oh, and when I TT'd backwards I just deleted the extra character I made since it always needs to be a NEW character that scouts for plots. Leaves a big brown patch so I always put the house in the same area c:

ahh ok I see well it just sounds like normal plot resetting except the results are for specific personality types. That's weird I never knew it worked that way with the first 9. Thanks for the helpful advice I'll start doing that tomorrow since I just created a new town today! Now go get some sleep

And yeah, I'm sorry if I described it like... like you didn't know how to do it, I may have read the question wrong oh gosh rofl. But yeah, unlike later stages, you are locked into 3 personality types. After that, if you don't have a certain personality it'll TRY to give you more of that than others, but I think you can mostly get whatever? I'm not certain on that one.

I don't THINK it would considering it'd still be 5:58 of the 27th, but the paranoia bug in me says "no keep going" omfg. And it's already 1PM on that cartridge, so, hmm... But doesn't TTing backwards count as one day forward? Does that count with villagers too?

I don't know either that's why I never do it. I'm always super paranoid about it and the number of times I've almost set the clock to 5:58 pm instead of am is enough excitement for me.
