Villager Reset Question

I have 8 villagers right now. I started as a new character and found no new house plot. What do I do from here if I want a certain villager to plot?

Whenever you start up the game on a new day, just start as a new character until you get someone to plot (I would recommend trying twice, in case you missed them or it just didn't work), and when that happens reset until you get someone you want. It might take a few days, but eventually you will get someone.
