What happens when you don't complete a villager request? Like my villagers will ask me for things that are impossible like perfect fruit (I have none) and certain bugs or fish that literally will not appear all day and then their request disappears/ends.

What happens when you don't complete it? Does the friendship score go down? Should I just stop accepting them, or does that make the score go down too?

What do y'all think? Thanks so much!

Don't feel bad because you reject their requests. In fact, you should if you know you won't be able to follow through. Otherwise, their friendship level will go down.
I always reject their fish and bug requests because I don't want them to destroy their houses, lol.

I'm always accepting bizarre requests for rare bugs from Genji and then not being able to follow through....he's still my best friend it seems, comes around uninvited and he's given me his picture twice. Can't think it affects friendship all that much? Not that I've found anyway.
Wouldn't worry about not accepting every request either, I don't like them messing up their houses so I tend to avoid tasks where they want furniture

awh dang, really?! And that's what I'm trying to do now, it didn't click for me FOR A LONG TIME, that those bugs were going into their houses. now SEVERAL of my villagers have crappy bugs and fish in their homes and I feel bad. I'll start declining all their requests now, thank you!!! I really appreciate the answer! :)

yeah, I'm going to start declining things like that. furniture too unless I want them to have something :) thank you for the answer!!

probably affects friendship.... so if you tryna get the pics, you better do the work. I think its worse to reject them though

post on here for a perf fruit, most users are nice and will help out, especially cause villager requests are pretty simple

Anyway, as Link said, it's not like if you accept and then don't follow through, there's going to be a substantial change to their level of friendship... I used to accept their requests even when I knew I wouldn't carry them out because I also feared that they'd get upset, and they still dropped by uninvited and gave me their pictures several times, so... I wouldn't sweat it, though if you reject their requests, it'd be better. :)

It's actually better to deny their request outright instead of saying you'll do it and never end up doing the task. I usually deny them, especially when they want me to show up at my or their house at a specific time. They make me feel guilty if I don't show!

Right!? I feel guilty!! but all these answers are definitely helpful - including yours! So thanks!

I rarely deny their requests and I rarely complete them lol
I'm still quite loved though but I do think it's better to reject them
I mostly reject their house request like no I don't want to wait one hour for you to come into my house for 5 minutes

Today Dotty (who only moved in about a week and a half ago...) pinged me and wanted to swap her storage case for my patchwork piece of furniture. I said no. I talked to her straight away again as I had a delivery for her from Lolly. She gave me her pic. So I don't think it affects friendship much...

Omg I just remembered I forgot to go to Naomi's! Ugh. Why do they do that? Like I was going to remember in an hour.
