i know there are lots of similar threads, but mine's a slightly different case. (maybe)

i came across a trader who had a villager i was looking for, in return, they agreed to dupe the 7-11 set.
we went with a plan we thought was efficient: i talk to the villager, and proceed with the duping. if you don't know the process of duping, it requires the visitor to flip the wifi switch some time when the game is 'saving' when you leave by train/host ends the session; this causes it to DC. this means that we both get what we wanted in one go!

the duping went well, and the villager's house said 'moved out' so was assuming everything was a-okay. but the thing is, the villager's plot hasn't appeared in over a week. this might be normal, and i might just be impatient, but knowing me, i panic very easily. i will continue to TT to find the plot, but i just wanted to know if the duping had any effect on this.

sorry for the long post and my nonsensical shenanigans, it just really worries me a lot and i'm actually very terrified. ; ___ ;

also, i know duping is not allowed here, i'll make it known that the trader is not from tbt! ; v ;

Agh I'm so sorry this happened to you :(
This seems weird though, how many villagers do you have ? And have you been playing these days or did you just TT ahead and not do anything in the game

If the wifi switch is flipped on either end, the villager does not move. The house will say "moved out," but the villager will be lost. Sorry :(

But yeah, don't talk about that secret thing

; v ; thank you for your concern, and i've still got my fingers crossed.
9 villagers, and i've been tt'ing with caution.

ahh just a question, will that mean the villager would go to the other end's void? :0

I don't think so since the villager in their town is marked as moved to another town, so they shouldn't be in the void.

you have a point there ; ____ ; it was my last shred of hope, haha. the villager's a long-shot but maybe i'll get lucky. ; n ;

oops one last question maybe: does this mean i have to cycle 16 villagers if ever? the house did say 'moved out' but the plot never appeared soo ; w ;

Log in as a new save file, if there is no plot, save.
Delete that character and TT to the next day. The plot should be there.

I think.

I'm fairly certain you won't have to do the cycle. (not entirely sure though..) The villager never showed up in your town so they've never been a resident.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. ;-; Can I ask who the villager is?

ohh i see, i sure hope not.
anddd the villager was marshal; no surprise there, right? definitely a long-shot so i don't expect an easier way to obtain him, haha.
at least i was able to help someone obtain a rare set ; w ;

Nah, the 16 villager cycle shouldn't apply here. Since they've never moved into your town, you're still able to have them move in at anytime given there's an open spot.
