Wow, this game just loves to stress me out doesnt it?

So, I had another strange incident today. I adopted Nana from someones town, while Merengue was in boxes (she was my ninth villager, after she moved I would have 8). Right after I adopted nana, I had somwone come over to adopt Merengue. Now that she was gone, I wanted to plot reset Nana.

However, after time traveling 1, 2, 3, and even 4 days, no plot showed up. I tried a week, two weeks, even 2 months after the date I invited her to town. Still no plot.

The twist? No one new moved in at all. No random move ins or anything. I am simply stuck with 8 villagers.

Any idea what can cause this???

If Nana has not yet moved out of the town you invited her from, then she won't move into yours until she has left the other. You might want to double check with whomever you got her from. Other than that, she should come soon. Just keep at it, I guess.

The town I adopted her from was a cycle town, and the thread has been updated and Nana is gone for sure.

Maybe there wasn't enough room for her plot to show up? Try checking your mayor's mailbox for any letter from Nana saying she couldn't move into town.

Hmm? That's strange :/ Idk what could've caused this, but maybe it was because a villager was moving out on the same day you invited someone in. I hope your problem gets fixed soon!

hmm it might be because you tried to invite someone while a villager was in boxes in your town? not sure though.

Vizionari, I am 100% sure that there was enough room, Ive got empty spaces big enough for at least 3 plots :P

Instead of dealing with it and risking having the plot show up randomly in a bad spot, I just canceled the invitation by adopting Poncho from someone else. However I'd still like to keep this topic open for discussion since its a very odd thing and it may come in handy for other in the future o:

Hmm, well was there anything strange that happened when you adopted Nana? Like did the cycler save after you were in their town to adopt Nana, but there was a wifi error? Otherwise, I really don't know what happened, sorry.

This happened to me with Ankha around a week ago. I invited her to move into my town the day Charlise was in boxes and found her plot nowhere to be found the next day and didn't find it when I kept tt-ing forward.
So what I did was go back to the day Ankha was meant to move in (the day after I invited her) and loaded up my mayor. (Though I'd search the town again and save with that new character as a precaution). Then I'd save & quit my mayor, tt to the next day and begin the plot reset process and poof, I found Ankha's plot.
Idk what really happened but perhaps there needs to be a gap in between a villager moving out and in...? I'm not exactly sure.

Hmm, interesting P.K! I actually tried loading the game with my mayor the day after merengue was in bixes and continued to reset, but it yielded the same results. Maybe it was Merengue that was the problem. I dont think ive ever invited a villager when another one was in boxes, so its possible that it may have cause it?

And nope, the adoption was fast and smooth. No saving in between, no wifi errors.
Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it!

Not the first time I've heard about this happening. I still don't quite understand just how/why this happens. This has never happened to me, but it's probably because I do plot resetting by the book. Always make sure someone is fully moved out, and that there's space.
