After not playing AC for a while, I ended up with 8 villagers. I've always had good luck plot resetting, but lately I've been having some real trouble!

Most of my villagers are situated within a "peninsula" neighborhood, and I like to keep it that way. But I've hit a snag and I'm wondering if any experts know if there's a problem or if I should just keep trying.

Anyway here's a map, first off

Basically, O'hare moved out at some point, and when I was getting my 9th villager, Ruby, I was trying to get her to move somewhere between those four houses. Especially if it was on or near O'hare's old spot! But after days and days it wasn't happening, and I settled on another spot south of here. Now, I'm resetting for Marshal, and I'm wondering if I should try for this area still?

I'm mostly worried because the south-east-most house, Gladys, moved in AFTER O'hare was already gone. So I'm worried that her house is somehow blocking houses from plopping in the old area. Do villagers hate spawning while surrounded, like trees or something? Or maybe I'm just unlucky/impatient now. New villagers just keep spawning in the same 8 or so dang spots, but never in that general area

I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard that only two or three houses can be placed in an animal crossing acre. Each town is divided up into acres and within each acre only so many house or public works projects or building can be placed there. Maybe you reached that limit for that particular spot in the map.

Yep, stinaj is right; there can only only be three buildings (not PWPs, but houses, things like Roost, Police Station, etc) per acre. I will dig up the discussion that we had and link it to you in a bit, but essentially if you can figure out how to divide your town into the 16 acres, it will help you out tremendously in figuring out where villagers can and cannot plot.http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?310996-The-precision-of-villager-plot-resetting Here it is

Ack, that may explain it then... darnit o'hare! Considering during my resets I've had villagers squeeze their way into the most unlikely locations EXCEPT there, you're probably right. the leftmost house is also a recent move-in that could be mussing up the acre thing. Maybe I'll put a PWP or two in the empty space and pretty it up, haha
