Villager of Honor Badge

I have a question. I recently just got the villager of Honor Badge which is for playing over 500 hours of acnl but when I go to my acnl stats it says I only have 430 hours. Why did I get the badge early and has this happened to anyone else?

Do you do a lot of time travelling? I'm not sure but I think that can affect your stats.

Never have time traveled

I think the game clock includes the time when your 3DS is in sleep mode while the game is open, and the system doesn’t count that as game time.
