Villager never showed up from other town!

This happened to my gf last week which we don't understand and has never happened to me when I had got all of my dreamies.
She payed for her dreamy Peanut and went to the persons town & talked to peanut to move in like normal. I was there and everything went smoothly like should and session was even correctly ended. Also I should include that right after this trade, she went to my town and I gave her my old villager Julian who was in boxes. She changed the day from March 31,2015 to 2016 (For some weird reason) and when she went back to the original date, Peanut never came; but Julian was there. She had I think 7 or 8 villager slots filled only since it was a new game at the time, so it wasn't a space issue. Did the villager not come because Julian? Because Time travel? She's gone day by day now and Peanut still hasn't come. Did Peanut maybe move out? Can she still get her from a different trade? Help would be appreciated, thanks guys

So Peanut was adopted, and then Julian was adopted right after. I'm pretty sure that Julian's adoption cancelled out Peanut's, as the game only makes the most recent villager adopted (in one ACNL day) move in, and cancels the other.

Oh man that explains it! She probably did them both on the same day, I've adopted more than one at a time but never on the same Animal crossing day. I guess only one per day kinda makes sense to why this happened now. Can she still get Peanut or is that not possible anymore? Thanks for the info!

Peanut will not come from the town she picked her up at. You can still get her from the campsite/move-ins/villager trades though!

I don't think you have to do the 16 villager cycle, since she never actually moved in.
You can still try and see.

Sweet! Yeah I just read up on it "The villager has to plot into your town to be part of the 16 villager cycle. So you won't have to cycle through 16 to get him in that town."
Well that's a relief and sure will save her some time and hassle. Thanks a lot to both of you for the help!
