Villager Move In Resets?

I had asked a villager to move in from the campsite yesterday and I found their move in spot just now. It's in the worst possible place they could have picked! I haven't had to do move in resets in a long time to change their move in spot but if I keep restarting my game, will the placement move? I've tried a few times to no avail. :c

unfortunately, no. if you've already loaded up your mayor, it's too late. villager plots can only be changed if you load up the game on a new save file; when you start as your mayor, the game locks in the new plot wherever it is and it can't be changed. :c​
