Villager luck?

I've spent over 500 nook mile tickets trying to find 'rarer' villagers with next to no luck, just some cute deer and ducks.
But today both Judy and Raymond decide to appear at my campsite? I feel as though people find the find the 'rarer' villagers through the campsite more often.
I just wanted to ask where you find the better villagers, campsite or mystery tour?

By rare do you mean the ones without an amiibo or just the popular ones?
The only one I've found is Dom, I got him on the 3rd ticket I think.

My 'best' campsite villagers were Julian and Marshall, the other ones where kinda meh.

i found merengue on a completely random mystery tour, it was maybe my 10th ticket used throughout the entire game? i'm sure that the chances for "popular" villagers are the same for mystery tours and the campsite, you just got very unlucky and then very lucky haha

Mitzi and Merengue on Mystery Islands. But for me there is no „better villager“ tbh.

The only rare one I would maybe invite would be Sherb. The rest I decide on personal preferences.

I guess I could also list Hopper, because of all the penguins, he got the most unique design. Was also found on an Mystery Island. I also run into Bunnie and Fauna once.

I’ve been quiete lucky with my first 3 island tours because I found stitches, Chrissy and Gayle, which are cute, but after that no luck at all on mistery island. The campsite, on the other hand, was amazing. I got Raymond as my first camper and then yesterday I got Bob, which I love. The game generated kabuki because I had one plot for sale and I couldn’t find anyone to move in and I really like him but I can’t stand 3 cats so I hope I’ll be able to switch him for Fang.

Since I got most of my dream villagers by amiibo cards, I can't explain this answer well.

But I got Raymond as my first camper you're forced to move in. Say that isn't luck.

since i rarely ever get campsite visitors, i have better luck finding villagers from island tours lol

I have had luck with the campsite, had Marshal as one of my campers and obviously invited him to move in, I also got Mira as well, and Lily just popped up today although I didn't take her because I needed space for Diana

Also I got Fang and Stitches on islands which I was very happy about!

I found Erik (Twice), Fushia (Twice), Fauna, Sprocket (Twice), Audie, Sherb, Marina (Three times), Zucker, Freya, and Bam all on Islands.
I got Raymond and Francine in the campsite.

My best villagers have been through NMTs because I rarely ever have any camper unless it's one I unintentionally got from TT, and usually it's one I don't really seem to care for.

Found Audie/Judy/Reneigh and Sherb all in 4-5 hops and Raymond I campsite tricked for, I could have probably found him on some island but eh I went for the less expensive way haha : )

I’ve found Stitches and Fauna on mystery islands so been pretty lucky.

Campsite not nearly as lucky, I’ve had three so far in Lopez, Bruce, and Al who is scary ugly (sorry to anyone who likes Al lol)

Found Audie while I was looking for peppy as one of my starter villagers. Then found her again 3 more times on mystery islands using 100 tickets in total on different occasions using another Switch.

Found my dreamies Marshal and Judy in my campsite. Also, Raymond twice using the campsite trick. Then another Raymond on my 46th ticket on the islands.

Found Sherb on the island after using 22 tickets then found him 2 more times on a different day.

Found another Judy on the island as well then once again in my campsite.

I got Dom as a starter on my main island then Reneigh on another Switch by resetting the starter villagers.

I don’t go actively looking for villagers, but so far mystery islands have given me Raymond, Stitches, Merengue and Marina.
My campsite gave me Tex, Wart JR , Sylvia and Chow.

so I’ve had more luck with islands but I’ve also visited island more than I’ve had campers. And I’ve found equally boring villagers on islands including Tank, Dizzy and Lucha. So I’d say it probably works out about the same for me.
