Villager interior

If I adopt a villager who was someone's starting villager (with the unoriginal interior), will their interior change to the right one when they move to my island?

Or would I get a villager with a house that only has a sleeping bag and a table?

Yes! Can confirm, someone adopted Merengue (starting normal) from my town, and the day she was moving and in boxes her wallpaper and flooring had already changed to her default. The person confirmed her original, default furniture appeared in her town. ^^
