This has always made me wonder when I see people with patterns reserved for future villager's house, and get them to be placed there prefect apparently. How do they do this? I do use a new character to place a villager's house where I would like, but how do people get them to be placed prefect where they exactly want? Is there some sort of trick I am missing?

For example if I made a villager move, can I get the future villager to move in the same spot he was before?

there is no trick, it is random where they move. they can narrow down the possibilities by using pwp, etc.
some people get very lucky and get their villager where they want within a few resets. i've heard people saying that they've been resetting for hours but they still aren't in the desired area. i've had a little bit of luck, but it wasn't perfect. julian moved two space to the right from where i wanted him, so i reset. he kept on moving his house around in that area since i had pwp all over. after a while it was one space, so i just kept it. it took me about.. 10 resets at most?

There's no trick... It's random. It is possible to get a villager to move right where the previous one was, though. I've done it twice. ^^

Took me 3 hours to get Lyman in a good spot eurgh and that was pretty much one specific spot

I had someone who I was holding a cycled villager for that I think was working on plot setting Skye for over a week.
((changing 3ds time clock to make it still be the day the plot would be there))

... so, if you have enough time and patience you can pretty well get a plot anywhere.

it took me 2 and a half hours to finally get molly next to fauna's house. i'm not too happy about her spot still but meh

Wow ok thanks all. So I could use pwp projects somewhat as a trick. I could remove the cutout stand in front of Rodney's house if that gives a higher chance of it working. I have time, but didn't know it would take that much. When Big Top was plotting, he kept commonly plotting in one spot, not moving a one space to that single spot.....it was either that or my path, or orchard, or hybirds as I remember.
