Villager House Customization

So I have recently become obsessed with customizing my villagers homes, in the past I used to not care but now that I've started I can't seem to stop. XD

Even though I feel like I've gotten quite good at it I have a few question I want to ask to see if I'm wasting my time.
1) Can villagers put more furniture in their house then they originally had, (Ex. Villagers original home has 10 pieces of furniture can they have 11?)
2) Can villagers put different sized furniture in places they did not have there originally, (Ex, Villager had a sofa that takes up two spaces I buy the piece of furniture then send 2 items that each take up one space. Is it possible for the pieces to be put there or will they only replace the items that originally took up two spaces in their house?
3) Can villagers have two items on top of a table that originally only held one item?

Sorry if these question sound repetitive or silly but I haven't found anything clearly telling me yes or no to any of these questions. XD I know it is more likely for a villager to replace same sized objects obviously but in my experience I cannot change the full layout of the original house and I'm not sure if I should go through the trouble of attempting.

haha i'm only obsessed with keeping my villagers as original as possible but after doing it for a little over a year, i guess i can try helping a bit tho i can't guarantee;;

-i think they'll just remove one for the other

-after continually sending back furnitures (lol;; ) i've only ever seen villagers place furnitures with the same size but in different spots where other same sized furniture used to be or in other spaces where the furniture can fit.. (ex. i have fang and he placed his sofa on the other side of the room beside his table where there originally wasn't anything) but i don't think it'll be too much of a hassle to experiment with it at least once!

3) Can villagers have two items on top of a table that originally only held one item?

-i'm pretty sure they can! idk if it only applies to fish/bugs, but one of my villager who originally had one item on their 2x1 table placed a fish beside their laptop, so i can't see why they wouldn't with normal furnitures? :3c

maybe i'll start customizing villager's homes now that you mention it haha
