Can everyone share how they'd placed their villager homes?

Did you design a neighborhood like setting? Or did you place them sporadically over the map?
Did you give them yard? How much space if so? Is it open or fenced in?

I want to give all of mine a yard, and I also want them all close together like in a neighborhood setting, but I am having trouble doing this for upto 10 homes due to constraints on the map size and design.

I placed them all sporadically around my map, 4 are in the main area where my town hall is whereas the others are scattered about. I've managed to give all of them yards although I had to sacrifice the sizes of the yards for villagers living in the main area as there's not enough space. I like to "zig-zag" some of the fences of the yards so it won't just be an entire rectangle/square taking up space. I place 1x1 objects next to the "zig-zag" so it spices up their exterior without needing too big of a yard. Hopefully what I'm saying makes sense lol

I was just about to ask this same question to see what others have done.

I have all of my villagers along the top left side of the map going down in 2 rows of 5. The top 4 houses are on tier 3, 4 on tier 2, and 2 on the main level of the island, with a straight river flowing between the houses. I have 3 bridges that connect the rows. Each of their yards are 7x7 with a fence going around.

I’m seriously reconsidering and separating everyone throughout the island, as I’m struggling to come up with how to tie everything in. I have two south river outlets at the “2” and “6” of the grid map and I feel like their placement is making it hard for me to plan. I tried using the browser planner but I don’t have enough patience with the current tools it provides.

I also keep flipping between wanting a natural island vs modern.

Blix: They're sort of scattered but all homes are in groups of twos, there's five houses in a row to the raised north of the island and two houses near where the ramp leading up to it. Then to the east there's two houses (including ours!) and then going north from there there's a path that leads to two more. Though now we are kind of thinking of rearranging those? Although We spaced them out because we wanted to customize villager houses and give them enough of a yard, and we included ourselves in there because it doesn't feel fair and we like to think of ourselves as just as much a part of the "community" ;w;

I have 3 neighbourhoods, as I like to call them. The first one is directly at the left at the airport and it counts 3 houses with little flower gardens. The secondo one is on another shore an it counts 4 houses and the last one is at the north with 3 houses as well. I’ve also created my “normal neighbourhood”, cause I have 3 of them and I decided I wanted them all together. It’s fun to watch cause they usually hang out around their houses cause I have a lot of flowers there and all my normals seem to adore flowers.
