Villager has a duplicated shirt

I decided to make a new thread for this since it didn't actually feel too fitting for the general question thread.

The thing is that I sent Rudy a Gracie tank quite recently and he started wearing it right away. When I visited his house, he was both wearing the tank and displaying it in his house even though I don't think he owned one before I sent him one.

Some time later I visited him again, and bought the extra Gracie tank he was displaying to get rid of it. However, when I visited him today, the tank was back on display. Somehow.

I'm just wondering if this is a thing that just happens or is some strange glitch? Please share experiences too if you have those, I'm interested.

Yeah that's weird, I'm pretty sure it's a glitch but I'm not sure...

Yea I've never actually seen/heard that happening. It does sound like a glitch. I wonder if there's a way to fix it

That happens to me all the time. Strangely enough, they replace shirts. Kiki often has three of the deep blue tee in her home, lol.

I think I'll just try to get him to wear something else and when he does, I'll buy the glitch shirt from him again. And if it'll just suspiciously reappear in his house again I'll consider it haunted.

That's super weird. Maybe it's the shirt you're giving to him? as in that shirt in particular is the thing causing it to glitch out? I mean Gracie items would be considered rare items I guess, so I feel like that could factor into it glitching. Also, if you're not sure of the items that he has in his house, Rudy's ACNL wikia should be able to show you.

I kind of have a feeling that it might be. A slightly more far-fetched thought is also that it's doing whatever it's doing because it's a Gracie item, even though it wouldn't make much sense.

I actually have the same thing happening in one of my towns. Lobo bought a gelato shirt from me. He wore it right away, but when I went into his house the next day, he was also displaying the same shirt he was wearing. So it's not limited to Gracie items.

Sometimes I see villagers displaying the exact shirt they are wearing and I've always wondered where they got the second one.
