I did not invite him, he said that "I'm Derwin from Espaca" when I first talk to him...

Didn't know this was possible o_O...

Yeah it's possible they were in that person's void and moved into your plot. I'm so sorry this happened to you :(

Unfortunately, any time you have an open plot and have been traveling, you will get a friend's villager who never found a home. I wish we could turn this feature off sometimes to have a fully random villager but the only way to get someone fresh is to isolate your island from anyone and stay home. It's kinda an incentive to use NMT to find someone on a mystery island during that single day your plot is open

yep... i did quite a bit of trading at some point and then ended up getting stuck with someone else's plucky... i was SO disappointed lol :< good luck getting that villager out!

Thanks for confirming! I guess I'll move him out slowly T_T (gifts and pray bubble lands on him one day)
No problem, next time you have an open plot, I highly suggest just going island hopping till you find someone you like, or adopt a villager before visiting other people. I hope you can get him out soon! ;__;

Oh darn! I'm sorry! My island is Escapa and I used to have Derwin. You must have visited my island at some point.

Sorry that happened to you. Hopefully he moves soon. He's not a terrible villager to have around in the meantime. I hope you at least get some different dialogue out of it. (i don't know if voided villagers say or do anything different) That's crazy to think that anyone got a villager from my void.

Same thing happened to me! I built the plot at 4:30 AM and was looking forward to island hopping all day to meet my next resident but nope! At 5 AM the plot went up but it had a “SOLD” sign on it. I was so bummed, even though I like Alice, who moved in.

Now I have three normal villagers. Welcome to book club and gnawing self-doubt island.

Ohhh no. I hate when that happens. I think it's meant to be exciting to be given someone new, but it mostly ends up being a pain because unless you happen to like the villager you're given, then you might have to go to the trouble of trying to replace them and it becomes a huge project. Especially if you already had plans for who you wanted to see in that plot.

Well, you won’t be blaming me!

I recently voided Tom in favor of Stitches.

I have not, at any point, had Derwin on my island in “New Horizons.”

My poor friend got Jitters from me, and then he moved to another friends island, and now it’s just an infinite loop of him terrorizing islands and bringing down property values.

That is cruel.

I like Jitters.

OK—I admit I did not have him in a town of mine for long. (Then again, I did not have that given town for long.)

XD no worries, I already have 2 Lazies so I don't think I'll keep him, but I'll threat him well and hope he moves out happy soon.

Yeah, this has been a feature of the games since Wild World. It can be fun, but also very inconvenient. My friend, who is new to the series, was shocked to get Olaf from me in their empty plot, and then I had to help them learn how to cycle villagers so they could get him out 😂

I love Olaf! Don't think he's going anywhere xD

While we're here... does anyone know if its true that the last villager to move in, will be harder to move out?

Yea this sucks, I actually have never had this happen to me before because I always find a villager to fill a plot so that this doesn't happen to me good luck getting Derwin booted!
