What are different ways you can tell how high your friendship level is with any villager. I've heard things about them waving back when you call their name with the mega phone, but are there anymore ways to tell? Maybe what the request from you?

Some of the ways i tell is:
~The start to become my pen~pal and write to me every day and send gifts
~They give you a lot of free stuff randomly
~They ask you to change there catchphrase and greeting
~Also when they come over to your house randomly

I think they start asking for rarer/specific fish/bugs (instead of 'river fish' they'll say 'goldfish', for example) when they like you more, but I don't know if that's a reliable indicator or not. They also give out spotlight items as rewards - for example, deluxe washer, number lamps and so forth.

I heard before that how they react when you sit on a bench with them is an indicator? Like if they continue to have ^__^ kind of eyes while they sit there, they like you a lot?
