EDIT: Looks like we won't be getting him back any time soon. We tried everything, to no avail. It was very disappointing, but at least we learned something the hard way: the importance of stable Wi-Fi.
I plan on sending them flowers as an apology gift later.

So on my island, it says in his house, "I've moved out." My friend told me their plot was empty from the disconnect, so I told them to TT and see what happens. Guess what. They didn't get my villager. x_x
Has this happened to anyone before??? I would appreciate the help because my friend wanted this villager for a while and he was in my island, and I wanted to help them, but then I think I screwed up big-time or something
