Villager cycling question~ im so confused.

So I have a second copy of ACNL I don't use, so I'm thinking about cycling villagers.
Thing is.. I'm pretty sure I have no clue what it is.
So here's my guess at it: -Do you reset or start a new game, then see if you have any popular villagers, try to move them out, and then sell them when they're in boxes? Then reset again?

-How does the villager transaction work? Does the person talk to the villager in boxes, and then pay you?
-Will the villager move to the persons town even if you reset in that same day?
-What does "lurking" mean when people say that on cycling threads
-What does original villagers mean?


Thanks to anyone who answers. I've looked it up on google, but I can't seem to find something that quite answers my questions.

What I do as a method to Cycle is this:

Step 1.) Get a villager in boxes.
Step 2.) While the villager is in boxes, you're going to need to time travel a total of 3 times, here's how:
Step 3.) Go back 1 year and 5 days.*then save, quit*
Step 4.) Go forward 1 year *then save, quit*
Step 5.) Go forward 5 days

At this point a NEW villager will be in boxes and now you can trade that villager off to anyone who needs it. This only takes like 5-10 minutes each time and it's the most efficient way for me personally.

Also what does "void" mean? Like to void a villager?

I updated my first post about cycling and voiding means that the villager will just move into nobody's town. (What would normally happen if you just let them move out)

Oh ok gotcha! If you use that method, is the villager still considered original since they haven't changed?
(Some people say the original villagers are the first 5 you start out with, so that confuses me)

Also do you just keep doing that over and over again till you get a good villager? (Thank you for answering my questions again lol)

You should post on your cycling thread every time a villager is about to move, that way if anyone has that villager as a dreamie, they can come over and pick it up.
If you're not cycling for others' benefit and only to sell the villagers, then you just void until you get a Tier 1 or 2 (just google "villager tiers ACNL") villager like Stitches or Tangy or Ankha or something. Then just auction it off.
