Come up wth some creative and interesting backstories for some of your favorite villagers. How did they come to be who they are today. I'll start us off:
Hans - Once the mysterious yeti of the alps, who longed to be accepted into society despite hs looks, which often scared visitors to the mountains, he eventually took the risk and came down from his mountain home. It wasn't long until people noticed the legendary yeti living among them, and were happy to see their new neighbor. Eventually he settled down on an island known as Eclipse and became friends with Sailor Moon. He is known to be quite the ladies man on the island.
Lionel - A elderly lion who had previously fought in The Great Animal Crossing War of 2002. He now lives on an island in his retired years, living out his remaining years in peace. He loves to retell the stories of the war to the younger generation.
I wish I had something nearly as creative for villager backstories, lol. I don't have all of my perma-villagers moved in yet, but I named my island after my favorite place in Final Fantasy IX (Daguerreo), so pretty much all of my villagers will fulfill some basic history of the game.
Like all of my hamster villagers will be moogles, and Phoebe will play the part of the Phoenix summon. And .. that's really all I have so far.
Oh, and off-topic, but is your username a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 reference?
Axel- Bull elephants in real life set out on their own away from their families at a certain age. I like to think that Axel did that too.
Gigi- A former famous actress, Gigi retired to live a nice quiet life on an island.

Monty - His full Name is Monty Kong and he was a Member of the DK Crew once. After Cranky Kong retired, a new leader should have taken his place, so he started a Competition to determine which of the Kong’s would be the next leader. Monty knew he couldn’t win against Donkey Kong’s massive build, so he tried to cheat his way to victory. Eventually he was found out and was banned to „Animal Crossing“. He swore that he will get his revenge and let every one of the Crew Members pay for what they have done to him.
Rod - A little Mouse that lived with his family in a little Village near a beautiful lake. His father was a simple fisherman and he told his son all about his adventure on a famous Ship, were he was employed as a simple Sailor at that Time. His biggest dream was to sail around all the seven seas and looking for hidden treasures on the bottom of the ocean, so he could start his own Collection one day. A Museum for priceless antique Furniture, Jewelry and even Clothes, which could all be put on display and told the most interesting backstories. Rods determination to fulfill his Fathers Wish led him to this Island and he will be sure to collect enough Money to make this Dream come true one day.
Jacques (Jack, which is his true name) - In spite of his looks and the way he talks, he isn’t really French, nor Canadian. He was born in Switzerland, where his parents worked in a Chocolate Factory, one of the biggest Chocolatier in the entire Land. Jacques was an oddball, a Dreamer that began his career as a street musician and street gambler once he reached Paris. Also Slam poetry was something he has done, simply, because he thought it could help him to find his inner muse. Even if he considered a career as a singer, he still tries to keep his Beat boxing up and is reserved for several parties on different Night Clubs as a DJ.

Erik was an only child to emotionally absent parents. So he made imaginary friends, which he sees as bugs that live in his house, under his floorboards and in the walls. The bugs were the only people who cared about him. This also accounts for his emotion-eating of constant snacks and his unhealthy obsession with food. He moved to Valenwood because the bugs told him to.
Norma has led a happy life in rural England and is a mother and grandmother to children who have all grown up. She lived through wars and has seen many places. She moved to Valenwood and set up a small wheat farm to ponder on her rich and full life as she lives through her Golden years.
Annalisa moved from Japan a few years ago, to experience new places. She misses it dreadfully and that's why she models her surroundings on her home country. She also loves stationery, as it allows her to write home to her friends and family. She also just loves buying cute pens and paper and journals.
Apple followed Mayor Foxxie from Bevelle, in a bid to try and gain her friendship. Mayor Foxxie (now Island Rep Foxxie) just kinda wishes Apple would leave her alone. There is common belief that Apple is actually very sinister and this is probably true.
Lionel is a retired thespian. He loves nothing more than to sing and does so pretty much constantly. He misses the days when he was centre stage, and has acted in many theatres worldwide, including Broadway and London West End. He reminisces about the high life and still loves to make a grand appearance as often as possible.
Tutu is an aspiring Youtuber and previously lived in LA in an attempt to launch her fashion and beauty blog. But sadly she was too effervescent even for this platform and her channel was a flop. Running herself into bankruptcy she heard about a new start on an island and decided maybe it was time to throw in the towel and start a new life.
Paula was never a girly girl and grew up in a family of all males. As such she sometimes has trouble connecting with other women and can be a little shy. She's actually incredibly nice though and craves friendship, even if she's a bit of an introvert.
Axel had a tough life, being bullied for being such a small elephant. He found solace in going to the gym and soon found his confidence building every bit as much as his physique. He always works hard to be kind and positive as a result and loves to share his workouts to inspire others, in the hope that fitness will make them as happy as it makes him.
Wolfgang has seen a lot and knows too much. He doesn't talk about it though, so nobody really knows the "real" him.
