My first shiny was a sounds in ruby for game boy xD I was so confused why it was green and the others weren't.

Pokémon Very First Shiny Pokemon Stories!

Any idea what Pokemon it was? (If you remember that is). Cause for me in Emerald it was a Zubat and just like you I was so confused on why he was green lol.
My first non-gyarados shiny was a polywag, it was initially cool but the thrill wore off rather quickly due to how boring a slightly lighter blue is compared to other shiny pokemon. The first shiny I had that I actually liked enough to use was a female zubat I named Mya but when I evolved her I was massively disappointed to find that shiny crobats are pink, I wound up giving Mya to my sister so it wasn't a total waste but I if I knew ahead of time I would have kept her as a zubat.

My first shiny was an Eevee. I remember staying up until 3am in the morning trying to get it in X. I spent like... over 13 hours trying to chain one I think? I was so overjoyed when I finally got it, but at first I thought I was just hallucinating since I was up really late trying to get a shiny omg.
But yeah, now I have two, the first one I didn't evolve, and the second one is a shiny Jolteon! uvu I named the Eevee Prince. I've never been lucky enough to encounter a random shiny tho o:

The very first shiny I got was the Pokeball Vivillon, but of course I downloaded that so I don't really count it.
My very first shiny I actually saw and caught was in OR, a Voltorb. I was grinding to evolve Magneton into Magnezone in New Mauville, the last thing on my mind being shinies. I was wandering around waiting to be attacked and most of the time just going "A A A A A A" to just get the fights over quickly, fortunately though I glanced down at my screen as I thought I'd heard the "sparkling" sound twice instead of once(Shiny Metagross see), and sure enough it turned out to be a shiny blue Voltorb. I was nervous the whole time as I thought it might use self-destruct just to slap me in the face, but fortunately it didn't, and after Metagross using Hold Back and a single Ultra Ball it was caught. It's now a level 40(I think) Electrode.
I did play about 1250 hours combined on Leaf Green and Ruby, but I wasn't lucky enough to ever encounter a shiny on either of them. Either that or because I was ignorant of their existence I just defeated anything I found even if it did look unusual.

My first shiny was a Geodude near the start of Gold or Silver back when they first released. I was like an hour into the game at the most and I didn't know why it was 'different'. I didn't have any Pokeballs either so I just killed it and got on with the game.
It was a while till I figured out what it was (like, a few years). Obviously the shiny Gyrados is in the game as well but I didn't link the two together because I thought the Gyrados was 'special'. It was only when the internet got more popular that I found shiny's were a 'thing'.
I've never seen another Shiny in the wild (that isn't supposed to be shiny).

I was playing Pokemon FireRed and wasn't really paying attention, I was trying to train my Charmeleon when I realized that the Pidgey that appeared had sparkles. I almost made it faint but luckily I caught it.

I believe the first shiny I saw was in Silver. I remember surfing on the route going to Fuchsia City and a shiny tentacool showed up. I had no idea that shiny pokemon were rare, so I sort of killed it.
Absolutely horrible feeling when I eventually learned about my mistake.

Surprisingly I never got a shiny in Diamond or Black. I played so much those two games it was insane. My brother got a psyduck once in diamond tho.
Mine was a meinshao in X/Y and I named it Eren cuz it was a fighting type.

I never once found a shiny in Gold/Silver/Crystal and was so upset about it because I had a friend that had a shiny Steelix.
Then Ruby and Sapphire came out and I went and got Sapphire, turned it on in the car on the way home and right after I was able to get pokeballs I ran into a shiny Zigzagoon and caught it.
But more recently shiny pokemon are a little easier to come by. I think I have like six or seven shiny slowpokes in X that I haven't traded over to AS yet. And I have a shiny Slowking that I keep in my Soul Silver game. He'll be there until they make another walking pokemon game. =[

I stepped into a normal patch of grass to find a shiny doduo! ^ ^
Yeah, I screamed. Alot. My bro screamed.
I think I might of broke everyones eardrums
I caught it and traded it for a shiny Eevee which is now a wonderful shiny Sylveon on my Alpha Sapphire.

I was like 10 years old and my first ever pokemon game was Pokemon Diamond. I was walking through the grass and a shiny bidoof appeared I was like what the hell why is it gold. So I wanted to catch it but failed badly I killed it by accident :c There goes my only shiny encounter ever :/ R.I.P Shiny Bidoof

I've been playing Pokemon since I was a little kid and I NEVER found a wild shiny until about a year ago.
My boyfriend and I were sitting next to each other, both playing Pokemon X, and he was breeding trying to get a shiny Skarmory (not having any luck, I should add). I had been in the middle of my 2nd play through of X while I was trying to avoid tall grass and just progress the story. I accidentally walked into some tall grass, just once, and was attacked by a shiny oddish! I was just trying to play the game and this shiny came out of nowhere! My boyfriend had been trying to hatch one for days.
I still rub it in his face that I found that shiny oddish and he never hatched a shiny.
