Valentines Day is just another "Hallmark Holiday" - made for selling things, and spreading the belief that you don't belong if you aren't in love/in a relationship, when, in fact, the opposite can be completely true. But, I suppose it's a "couples society"

I could give my rant about the absurdity of the "high school love" idea, but I'll save my words. I just think it would be more special if the boyfriend/girlfriend (My god, I hate those words. They make people dear to you seem like objects.) would do something special on a random day. Valentine's Day would make it feel like an obligation - "If you don't do anything, they don't love you", etc.

But then again, I'm a cynic about this, as I am in high school, and have watched way too many movies/read too much shojo manga about high schools where the solution to everything seems to be "get a boyfriend/girlfriend".
