Vacant plot question

I have a villager who is moving. Tomorrow he will be in boxes. If I give him to someone tomorrow the plot will be empty. Will it still be empty the next day like it would if he went into the void or do I have to fill it that day to avoid an autofill? Thanks

If you don't fill it in with someone (via adoption or mystery islands) when the plot is empty/roped off it will auto fill with a random villager.

i know that. im asking if it will autofill the day someone takes him(in boxes day) or will i still have the next day to find a replacement like i would if he didnt get taken by someone?

Yes, it will still be empty the next day!

After someone comes to collect your villager, the villager will still be in boxes moving out for the rest of the day. The next day, the plot will be empty for you to fill.

Yes, the day after they're in boxes is when you would fill it
